Beverage Contest

3/19/13

Hey all! We hope the longer days and soon-to-come Spring weather is getting you excited for the season. Here at Sixty-Six Beans we're lovin' it. Because we love our customers input and getting you involved, we've created a contest where you can create your own drink and have it featured on our menu board. How cool is that?

Here are the rules:
1) Pick your form: Latte (iced/hot), Americano (iced/hot), Frappé or Drip Coffee (iced/hot)
2) Select your flavor combination: caramel*, chocolate, coconut, cinnamon, gingerbread, hazelnut*, peppermint, raspberry, toasted marshmallow, vanilla* or white chocolate (*denotes sugar-free available) NOTE: The syrup to beverage size ratio is 3 pumps/12oz and 4 pumps/16 or 20oz—except for our caramel and chocolate sauces which are 2 pumps/12oz and 3 pumps/16 or 20 oz
3) Name your drink: the more creative and catchy the better

Choosing a winner:
1) Email your beverage concoction(s) to: info@66beans.com (Along with your First and Last Name, Contact Number, and Contact Email address.) DEADLINE is midnight April 30, 2013. Limit three (03) entries per person.
2) Then "powers that be" will decide upon three finalists.
3) The top three beverages will then be temporarily available for purchase at Sixty-Six Beans and the people of Charlotte Hall will VOTE on a winner. (One vote per person, no exceptions.)
4) Voting will begin Monday, May 06, 2013 through Saturday May 11, 2013.
5) The winner will be announced on Monday, April 15, 2013. He/She will receive a $10 Sixty-Six Beans gift card, along with their signature drink added to our menu. (How fun!)

Put your thinking caps on, and let your creative minds work!

Hope to hear from you soon,

Our Roaster's Roasting Philosophy

12/13/12

Darn, I missed saying something really clever for 12/12/12. C'est la vie! ;)

Many of you ask what our various 'Coffees of the Day' taste like (dark vs. light, bold flavors vs. subtle). I will let you know that almost all of our coffees are of the Light/Medium roast range---except our dark French Roast, of course. Why is this, you ask? Well let me have our roasters explain:

"Because we're purchasing some of the best beans available (in the top 3% of the world), we take great care in the way we roast our coffee! Call us crazy, but we just don’t feel right about burning our beans! In general, the darker a coffee is roasted, the less you can actually taste the subtle nuances of the coffee. Really dark roasts just end up taking on a carbonized flavor, and they don’t showcase many of the complex flavors of the actual beans." (Square One Coffee)

Top 3%, IN THE WORLD! Did you catch that? Not only are our coffee beans fairly traded and organic, they're the best of the best. Doesn't that make you smile? Lil' ole Charlotte Hall has some of the finest quality coffee this world has to offer! How many small-town, independent coffee shops can say that??

As buddy the Elf once said, "You did it! Congratulations! World's best cup of coffee! Great job, everybody! It's great to be here." He's right. Of course we're a little biased, but our roaster's really do create some of the World's best cups of coffee, and yes, it is great to be here. =)

Happy Thursday everybody,
