Our Roaster's Roasting Philosophy

12/13/12

Darn, I missed saying something really clever for 12/12/12. C'est la vie! ;)

Many of you ask what our various 'Coffees of the Day' taste like (dark vs. light, bold flavors vs. subtle). I will let you know that almost all of our coffees are of the Light/Medium roast range---except our dark French Roast, of course. Why is this, you ask? Well let me have our roasters explain:

"Because we're purchasing some of the best beans available (in the top 3% of the world), we take great care in the way we roast our coffee! Call us crazy, but we just don’t feel right about burning our beans! In general, the darker a coffee is roasted, the less you can actually taste the subtle nuances of the coffee. Really dark roasts just end up taking on a carbonized flavor, and they don’t showcase many of the complex flavors of the actual beans." (Square One Coffee)

Top 3%, IN THE WORLD! Did you catch that? Not only are our coffee beans fairly traded and organic, they're the best of the best. Doesn't that make you smile? Lil' ole Charlotte Hall has some of the finest quality coffee this world has to offer! How many small-town, independent coffee shops can say that??

As buddy the Elf once said, "You did it! Congratulations! World's best cup of coffee! Great job, everybody! It's great to be here." He's right. Of course we're a little biased, but our roaster's really do create some of the World's best cups of coffee, and yes, it is great to be here. =)

Happy Thursday everybody,
